Projektmanager:in IoT & SaaS (m/f/d)

Office Garching, Hybrid
Part-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

As a Project Manager IoT & SaaS, you are a key link between our customers, internal teams, and external partners. You manage customer projects from planning and onboarding through implementation and rollout to handover into ongoing operations. You will do much more than maintain project plans. You ensure that requirements are understood, responsibilities are clear, commitments are delivered, and risks are identified early. Depending on your experience, you will initially take ownership of clearly defined topics, work packages, or projects and gradually grow into full project and customer responsibility throughout your onboarding. The Head of PMO will support you as a professional and organizational backup along the way.

  • You plan and manage customer projects from implementation through rollout to handover into ongoing operations.
  • You create project timelines and milestone plans, track activities and dependencies, and ensure that commitments, decisions, and open items remain transparent.
  • You analyze and structure customer requirements and compare them with the agreed project scope.
  • You identify deviations from the agreed scope and coordinate change requests together with Sales and the relevant specialist teams.
  • You structure technical topics, perform initial analyses, and involve the appropriate experts for further clarification.
  • You review tracking and system data for plausibility, analyze technical anomalies, and prepare relevant information for the Development team.
  • You coordinate collaboration between customers, external partners, and internal teams such as Product Management, Software Development, Customer Success, and Operations.
  • You prepare customer meetings and, as your onboarding progresses, increasingly take ownership of customer communication and meeting facilitation.
  • You identify risks and delays early, address them openly, and initiate the appropriate escalation paths where necessary.
  • You prepare handovers to internal stakeholders and ensure that all required information, decisions, and prerequisites are in place.
  • You contribute your own ideas and support us in continuously improving our project standards, templates, and ways of working.

Your profile

  • You are familiar with the fundamentals of project planning and project management and have ideally already applied them during your studies, vocational training, an internship, a working student position, or your first professional projects.
  • You are able to understand and structure technical requirements and communicate them in a way that enables customers and internal specialists to work from a shared understanding.
  • You can analyze technical data and system behavior, assess plausibility, and clearly describe technical findings.
  • You understand the relationship between customer requirements, technical dependencies, timelines, and project scope.
  • You work in a structured and reliable manner and keep commitments, decisions, risks, and open items transparent.
  • When tasks are unclear, you do not simply wait for instructions. You gather available information, structure the issue, and prepare possible approaches.
  • You address risks, delays, and your own mistakes openly and at an early stage.
  • You take ownership of your responsibilities and reliably follow up on commitments and open tasks.
  • You form your own opinion, communicate it constructively, and support decisions once they have been made.
  • You work pragmatically and with a clear focus on outcomes while adapting the required level of detail to the situation, risk, and timeframe.
  • You actively seek feedback on your own work and are equally willing to provide constructive feedback to others.
  • Throughout your onboarding, you develop a strong sense of which decisions you can make independently and when it is appropriate to seek support or escalate a topic.
  • You have German language skills at C1 level or higher.
  • You have English language skills at B2 level or higher and are confident participating in meetings and technical discussions.
Experience in managing customer or technical projects is an advantage. Technical knowledge in areas such as IoT, SaaS, APIs, software development, positioning technologies, Bluetooth, or
hardware will help you get started more quickly. Most importantly, however, you are curious, enjoy understanding technical concepts, and are able to learn new topics independently.
Experience with Jira and Confluence, as well as basic programming or scripting skills (for example in Python), is also an advantage but not required. A specific university degree or vocational qualification is not mandatory.
The position is also available on a part-time basis with a minimum of 25 hours per week. Working hours should be distributed across five working days, and you should be willing to work from our office in Garching at least one day per week.
